Kevin MacPherson
Since we are painting en plein air this summer, I chose this excellent book for our first review. It has everything you need to know to paint outside, and what to bring on your outings. There are images of the stages of some of his paintings. A few chapter headings include Seeing Color Accurately, Mixing Clean Fresh Color, as well as The Light Family and Shadow Family. I own this book and it has been a considerable help! With all the plein air painting coming up, I will be reading this book again and enjoying the volumns of wonderful pieces!

This book seems more advanced. Chapter headings include: The Studio Inside and Out, Technique, The Theory of Relativity, The Planning and Painting Process, Painting Outside... Inside, as well as the Path to Success. I own this as well, yet have not studied it yet. Looks like another great book.
