Hanley Farm Artist Day June 14th

Hello Fellow Artists!!!

The Hanley Farm Paint Out is right around the corner and it sounds like great fun! Art, music, food, and fun events. We will have an opportunity to get out into our community, to display our work and sell it. We are also encouraged to paint. I received the following information through SOSA (Southern Oregon Society of Artists). It originally came from the Southern Oregon Historical Society, which is a great organization to support. Call or email Pamela to let her know you are coming and any questions you may have. If we all comment on this post we will know who from our Guild is coming. I hope to see you there!!!
Hanley Farm House

PS Check the Gallery tab to see paintings that we have done at the previous paint outs including Hanley Farm. Charity did a lovely piece of the House on location and finished at home.

Click to read more below, so you will have all the information that you need. I have included all of the correspondence from Pamela.  They are generous to invite us. All they ask of us is that we donate %10 of our sales to the Historical Society. That isn't much and they can use the community support.

You can invite family and friends. Copy and paste this in an email as your invitation:

June 14 at Hanley Farm - Flag Day Celebration, Artists Fair & Old Fashioned Lawn Party!
A day you won’t want to miss!!!! Put June 14 on your calendar and plan to join us for an old-fashioned lawn party at historic Hanley Farm. Or take a guided tour of the historic Hanley House. And of course, much MORE, including - music by The Rogue Suspects; a flag field; a presentation by Chelsea Rose, of SOU Archaeology lab; traditional games such as badminton and horseshoes; and farm-fresh food from the Hanley Kitchen. Pamela writes to us Artists:

Hello! You are invited to participate in Artist Day at Hanley Farm, June 14. This year we expect a significant visitor increase, as we’re partnering with the farm’s Summer Lawn Party. Which means more exposure, and potentially more sales, for you! There is NO FEE. We do however, ask that you donate 10% of the proceeds from your sales to the farm.

All you need to do is show up at 9am, definitely no later than 10:30am (event starts at 11am), and choose your spot to set up. That’s it! Due to the number of events taking place this year, artists are asked to set up on the front lawn of the Hanley Farm House, and surrounding areas.

As in past events, you’ll have several great sites, including the lawn in front of Hanley House, the area to the left of the pavilion, the lovely spring house area, Jackson Creek area, etc., to set up in.  We just ask that the areas to be used for badminton, horse shoe tossing, food service, etc., be used for those purposes. I’m preparing a map to give to you when you arrive so you’ll know the area’s I’m talking about, PLUS, I will be there to personally show you. I’m sooooooo looking forward to seeing you all again this year!

I’ve heard from about 14 of you that you are planning to attend. Last year (our second Artists Day) was more successful than the first year. I expect this year’s event to be even greater! We’ll have more participants, more visitors, all this means more exposure for you! We hope you’ll join us!!! Please let me know if you can make it.

Artists, here’s second ad I’m sending out today to several on-line sites, 5 newspapers, TV stations, news reporters, etc.  I expect we’ll  have quite a turn out for this year’s artist day!
When you donate 10% of your proceeds to SOHS. You can pay at the Hanley Mercantile located on-site at the end of the day, OR you can mail a check (payable to Southern Oregon Historical Society) to our Medford location. Please be sure to note on your check that the money is your 10% donation from the June 14 event. SOHS address is:

Southern Oregon Historical Society
Attn: Jean Taylor
106 N. Central Avenue
Medford, OR 97501
